Fun with nail polish design

Toes are blooming this summer with brighter and colorful designs. If you haven't tried to experiment with nail polish colors and nail accessories, don't worry, it's never too late to start. Check out the tips gathered by our staff below to help you add the buzz to your nails.

1. The easiest way to make your plain nails brighter is to add rhinestones, glitter, or nail sticker. Add rhinestone while the polish is still tacky, while the rest you can add after the polish has dried. Finish with Adoree top coat on top. One example we love is adding one or more white sparkling tiny rhinestone on the inside edge of a french tip.

2. Try different color combinations and create your own look with polish design ideas. We recommend Nail Art by Adoree for painting the nails since its thin brush will make it much easier to draw lines, small dots, etc. One example we love is painting a flower. Add a flower on one left and one right finger instead of all of them will give more elegant look. If you have no idea at all on what to paint, we like the book titled "Toerrific: simple guide to creating healthy and beautiful feet". It will give you easy and simple design you can try at home with nail art tools and nail polish you've already had.

3. Dotting tool or tooth pick is also a very useful tool in painting. You may need to break the sharp point of the toothpick to get a round end to paint a dot. For example for the flower, dip the round end of a toothpick into the nail polish and paint some dots as the petals and another dot on the center with different color. Use contrast colors for flowers. Then, use the sharp point to 'drag' the petals inward to the center. Always finish with top coat for protection.

Painting flower

The flower is painted using toothpick. Paint the dots with white polish and drag the dots using the sharp point inward to center. Finally, a bit of glitter nail art adorn the nail design.

4. Toe jewelry such as toe ring is another great way to add glamour to your toes instantly.

Ok, let's practice with one simple nail design from Toerrific.

Sunny toes

1. For this design you will need one light and one dark nail polish color. Choose yellow, white or orange for a sun shape. Any dark nail polish will work well for background.

2. After a clear base apply 1-2 coats of dark nail polish. Let it dry thoroughly.

3. Take your lighter polish and draw a half circle. You might need to add a second layer. Draw sun rays by adding smaller dots around the sun and then shaping them into the ovals. Cute and fun at the same time!

And always take care of your feet. Healthy and clean feet will give you a big plus already, even without nail polish. (TS/0706)
